FAQs

Q?

What is wheel alignment?

A.

Wheel alignment (or 'tracking') refers to the angle and direction at which the tyres are set. Hitting kerbs or driving at speed through a pothole can result in wheel misalignment. Poorly aligned tyres can affect road holding, increase fuel consumption and decrease the life of your tyres

Q?

Why are your prices cheaper than the rest?

A.

We keep our costs low due to having little overheads, sourcing our tyres directly from suppliers and manufacturers and the principle to charge a fair price for our work.

Q?

What are part worn tyres?

A.

Part worn tyres are fully tested and completely compliant to MOT and relevant UK agencies tyres that are imported from Germany where the requirements there are more stringent than in the UK due to their speed limits and inclement weather.

In the UK a tyre has to be changed when the tread reaches 1.6 mm but in Germany is 3 mm with taxes raising to 3.6mm. What this means you will get branded premium tyres (Michelin, Dunlop, Pirelli etc) at bargain prices, saving hundreds of pounds in the process.

Q?

Do you offer only part worn tyres?

A.

As a simple answer no. We supply and fit a whole range of new tyres from budget to premium tyres and we will guarantee to beat any local quote.

Q?

Will I need an appointment?

A.

Generally we would try and accommodate every customer if we can but should it be an extremely busy time of the day we would offer a convenient time.

To avoid rescheduling we would recommend a quick call before arriving.

Q?

You are a tyre place, how come you offer car repairs?

A.

Our staff are fully qualified mechanics and we have all the tools to complete most jobs. If we cannot we would be able to tell you before hand or use our network of mechanics to fix issues if you want to trust us with your vehicle.

We are experts in exhausts, brakes, servicing and maintenance. Try us for a quote and you will be surprised on how much cheaper we are than your local garage/dealer.

Q?

I have a bike, do you stock bike tyres?

A.

Unfortunately we do not stock bike tyres. If you have your own though we can fit them for you or repair them. Give us a call to find out

Q?

What is tyre balancing?

A.

Wheel balancing ensures that the weight of the wheel and tyre is even around the axle, and is achieved by placing tiny offsetting weights at specific points around the wheel.

If you notice uneven tyre wear or tyre 'wobble' at 40 - 50mph, it is likely that your wheels need re-balancing.

Please note: if you are purchasing tyres from us, wheel balancing is included within the tyre price so does not need to be purchased separately.
